About Undertow Next Level
Our Next Level program serves as a natural progression from GO Hockey into traditional field hockey. U10 players begin building toward the standard game from their GO Hockey experiences, while U12 players may experience the sport for the first time. With gradual introduction to the regulation ball and larger field play, athletes gain confidence and understanding in a familiar environment. Next Level provides a “light club” experience that prioritizes development, comfort, and growth.
Equipment Needed:
U12 Next Level: Shin guards (field hockey shin guards suggested but not required), tennis shoes or turf shoes, outdoor stick, mouth guard, black shorts for play day --- Reversible jersey included in registration for new players, neon socks available for purchase at practices
Projected Format:
U12 Coed Next Level: 15 min warm-up, 15 min learning rules (built in), 45 min skills, 30 min scrimmage
Note for Elementary School Athletes:
Elementary schoolers interested in Next Level must have prior experience, be comfortable with all fundamental skills, and show an eagerness to continue developing their game. Players naturally discover their passion for field hockey at their own pace. If your athlete is still exploring the sport, we encourage them to continue in GO Hockey, where the focus is on building skills and fostering a love for the game, before transitioning to Next Level. A good indicator that your athlete is ready for Next Level is that they are consistently engaged, eager to learn new skills and game concepts, and excited to actively participate throughout practice.
My athlete is motivated to grow as a field hockey player and is ready for consistent practices that support both individual and team development at an appropriate challenge level.
-Practicing and competing with consistent teammates and coaches
-Learning 7v7 and 11v11 positioning and game concepts
-Year-round practice opportunities & options for multiple practices a week
-Tournament opportunities
